The Wayland varsity bowling teams both took out Wyoming 29-1 at the Rock ‘N Bowl Lanes Tuesday in the last home appearance by the senior boys and girls.

Girls’ coach Eric Bottrall said, “Unfortunately, Wyoming only had four bowlers so it was a tough task against our girls who are starting to get things rolling just in time for regionals.

The Lady Wildcats, now 13-1 in dual matches this season, are defending regional champions.

High games today were rolled by Madison Bottrall 82, Summer Morrison 84, Juliette 153, Breanna Hyde 159, Haven Baker 167, Izzy Botwinski 195 and Kadence Bottrall 216.

After the boys’ team’s victory, coach Sherry Miklusicak said, “It was a happy day and it was a sad day. We are happy as we took our non-conference match against a four-member team fairly easily. It was a very sad day as it was the end of our regular season matches for our senior bowlers.”

Wayland went up 10-0 quickly after the Baker games with scores of 155 and 136, which the coach said “are not going to get us anywhere in the post-conference tournament. We simply cannot be satisfied with that, as we are much better than that, but it was good enough for today.”

The Wildcats swept every single point in the first game. High game was senior Chandler Caruso‘s 199, followed by Kyle VanEss’s 175. The team total for Wayland was 830, 370 pins better than Wyoming. If Wyoming would have had a fifth bowler, it wouldn’t have mattered.

Game two was better for Wayland as it bowled nearly 100 pins better than the previous game. Highlights were by senior Stephen Harnish with a 203, and senior anchor Chandler Caruso‘s dynamite 262.
