Wayland High School senior Kennedy Cole has announced she has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Kent State University. Cole was the leading home run hitter for the Wildcat softball team that regained the O-K Gold Conference championship and made it as far as the state quarterfinals before losing in extra innings to eventual state champion Owosso. The Golden Flashes play in the Mid-American Conference, so there may be opportunities for local fans to watch her play next year, after she finishes at Wayland. (Photo courtesy of coach Cheri Ritz)
