Wayland High School sophomore Sydney Urben has been selected to the first unit of the Division II girls’ all-state bowling team.
The announcement came this week from the Michigan High School Interscholastic Bowling Association.
Urben finished runner-up in the individual state tournament in February and she was a huge factor in the Wildcats’ co-championship in the O-K Gold/Green championship and 16-2 dual match record. They were fourth in the regional tournament, just missing qualifying as a team for the state tourney.
Urben and coach Bill Holbrook have been invited to the post-season state banquet in Sterling Heights May 1 to accept the plaque.
