The Wayland High School varsity boys’ tennis team traveled to The CAT Monday afternoon and lost 6-2 to O-K Gold Conference rival Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
Coach Ben Adams, said, however, the Wildcats “played well against a tough opponent.
“Fourth singles Chase Robinson and the freshman team of Brayden Tomson and Grant Dunkle came away with victories.
“At third singles, Cam Sieffert played for three hours in a grueling three-set match that could have gone either way, but ultimately lost,” Adams said. “This match was an excellent effort for a young team! We look forward to playing them (the Cougars) again at the O-K Gold Conference match in October.”
