The Wayland varsity tennis team Wednesday afternoon blanked a young visiting Wyoming team, 8-0.
Theo Oddy collected his first victory at first singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Cam Sieffert won his match at second singles, also with a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Chesney Hudson continued his undefeated season with a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. Counting Wednesday’s win, he has won 39 games (within a match) out of a possible 48 through four matches, for a win percentage of 81.25%.
At first doubles, Mason Babiak and Brayden Tomson collected a, 6-0, 6-0 win, keeping Tomson undefeated for the season thus far as well.
Grant Dunkle and Dawson Babiak won their match 6-1, 6-1 at second doubles to round out the match for the Wildcats.
Jacob VanDuine, Spencer Miller, Brycen Rookus, Asher Hendricks and Malcolm Sheffer all collected default wins for the 8-0 total score.
Coach Ben Adams noted it was the Wildcats’ third consecutive victory after a season opening 5-3 loss to Hamilton.
The Wildcats move on to the Caledonia Invitational Saturday for a quad match.
