Tuesday was not a good day on the track for the Wayland girls’ and boys’ squads at Cedar Springs.
The Wildcats lost a double dual meet against the host school and Forest Hills Eastern.
Things went badly almost across the board, as only one Wayland team members, sophomore hurdler Breanna Hyde was able to claim a first-place. Hyde won the 100-meter high hurdles in 18.21 seconds and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles race in 52.41 seconds. She also was first in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, five inches.
Earning runner-up finishes were sophomore Faith Rollandini in the 100-meter dash (13.74), and Rollandini, Elliot Antel, Taylor Wolf and Hyde in the 1600-meter relay.
Carson Noyes turned in a runner-up effort in the shot put (40-08.5) and was third in the discus.
