The Wayland varsity volleyball team won one match, split two and finally lost in the quarterfinals to Byron Center in a tournament Thursday.
The Lady Wildcats finished the day 1-1-2 by beating Forest Hills Eastern and splitting with Montague and Calvin Christian. They lost 25-23 and 25-16 to Byron Center, to being their overall season record to 9-3-3.
Leading the Wildcats in statistical categories were were Taryn Coughlin, 28 kills, 11 aces, 24 digs; Leigha Morse, 41 assists, 17 kills, 8 aces, 19 digs; Emily Johnson, 6 aces, 23 digs; Skylee Bellgraph, 17 assists, 20 digs, and Abby Merice, 40 digs.
