The Wayland varsity baseball team is 6-14 for the season, but it picked up two impressive victories Tuesday in a doubleheader sweep of Forest Hills Eastern.
The Wildcats halted Forest Hills’ 16-game winning streak in the first game of the twin bill, 6-0. Camden Ritz tossed a shutout and sophomore Jared Rankin, just up from the junior varsity, whacked a couple of home runs, one a grand slam, and collected all six runs batted in.
Wayland also took the nightcap 8-6 and Rankin belted another round-tripper.
