The Wayland softball team absorbed a 10-6 loss to Jenison Friday afternoon and its overall record sank to 18-8.

The Division 1 Wildcats scored six times in the opening inning and added three more in the sixth to salt the game away. They collected 14 hits throughout the contest. 

Carli Miklusicak took the loss on the mound, going just one inning and giving way to reliever Madi Ludema.

The ‘Cats were given eight walks, but only had four hits. Ludema had one hit and drove in three runs. Reese Veltman, Izzy Johnson and Kaylee Lown each added a single.
