Wildcats lose to Three Rivers in own Invitational finals

The Wayland High softball team was victim of a late Three Rivers rally that enabled the visitors to take the championship in the Wayland Invitational.

The Lady Wildcats wound up on the short end of an 11-10 score. Wayland had defeated Hastings 10-0 in the first round of the tourney,

Three Rivers most recently has been honorable mention in the state Division 2 rankings.

Selected as players of the games for the day were Rae Stallard and Clara Dutkiewicz. Stallard collected four hits in seven at-bats and drew two walks. Dutkiewicz drilled five hits drove in five runs in the two ballgames.
