The Wayland boys’ varsity bowling team has been on a roll ever since it finished first in the Lowell Invitational earlier this month.

The Wildcats claimed their third straight dual match victory Thursday with a 30-0 forfeit decision over East Grand Rapids at the Clique in Grand Rapids. The verdict left them with an overall record of 6-6 this seaon.

“We are on a winning streak for sure, but tonight was the easiest by far as we won by forfeit,” said coach Sherry Miklusicak. “It seems EGR had exams this week and everyone left for vacation. Unfortunately, their coach didn’t find out about it until we were on the bus and halfway there.”

Wayland bowlers enjoyed non-competitive use the the Clique’s  “double-decker” house with eight lanes on the main level and eight lanes upstairs.

Jordan Peters bowled a 193, Dylan Roberts 192, and 173 and Dillon Smith 216 to highlight the evening’s performances.

“Hopefully our winning streak will give us momentum into next week as we have two tough matches,” Miklusicak said.

On Monday the ‘Cays face Zeeland, a team they previously beat (25-5) and on Wednesday will take on a talented Hudsonville Unity Christian teams with visions of revenge for a loss in December.
