Perennial powerhouse Ravenna Friday swept Wayland 10-0 and 4-3 in a season-opening doubleheader. The verdicts enabled the Bulldogs to lift their season record to 8-0.
The Wildcats, 0-2 for the campaign, led the non nightcap, but Ravenna rallied to overtake them in the seventh and final inning.
Wayland will play next at home Monday afternoon with a doubleheader against O-K Gold Conference rival Grand Rapids West Catholic.
