The Wayland varsity softball team lost 11-1 Thursday to a senior dominated, Byron Center non-league opponent.
The defeat left the freshmen and sophomores dominated Lady Wildcats with an overall record of 12-9.
Collecting the five hits for Wayland were freshman Emily Bailey with a double and a sacrifice; freshman Kennedy Cole, a single and a double with an RBI; sophomore Kayla Reed, a double, and freshman Emma Ludema a single.
