The Wayland boys’ and girls’ bowling teams Thursday both turned back non-league opponent Wyoming, the boys 29-1 and the girls 27-3.
The boys did take the first Baker game, 166-91 and followed suit 139-118 in the second Baker.

“Even though our scores were low, we were winning 10-0,” said coach Sherry Miklusicak. Jayse Henkel once again filled all four of his frames.”
Since it was a non-conference matchup, the Wildcats were able to have a little fun moving the lineup around.
In the first matchup, Kyle VanEss prevailed 170-110, Wil Dewing 177-106, Dom Baker 157-84, Louis Harnish 137-99 and Henkel 175-115.
“The absolute best part of game one was that we picked up 82% of our single pin spares,” remarked Miklusicak. “This is what wins matches.
In game two, the scores were VanEss 163-116,
Raynie Arendsen 120-130, Zach Straub 127-112, Henkel 148-129 and Wil Dewing (first six strikes) 213-137.
“Our boys have done a great job this year,” the coach said, “but we need much better scores next week as we face Catholic Central Monday and have our O-K Gold Conference Tournament Friday.”
The Lady Wildcats won handily, but coach Eric Bottrall noted, “Well, it appears it isn’t only the O-K Gold that has problems filling rosters, as this non-conference match up couldn’t either. They (the Wolves) could only sport three players.
Wayland swept the Baker matchups.

“Wyoming will be in our conference next year, so it was a nice chance to bowl them and look forward to seeing them next year,” Bottrall commented.
